Ultra-low-volume spraying is an innovative technology that has gained significant attention in the field of plant protection in recent years. This method requires only about 330 ml of pesticide per acre, yet it delivers excellent pest control results. One of its key advantages is the use of extremely small droplets, which not only saves time and labor but also eliminates the need for water. This makes it especially ideal for use in mountainous regions, arid areas, and places with limited water supply. When used correctly, an ultra-low-volume sprayer can greatly enhance work efficiency while minimizing the risk of mechanical failure.
The ultra-low-volume sprayer is a highly efficient and user-friendly device designed for precision spraying. It consists of a fan, a liquid tank assembly, and a spray nozzle. The entire unit is mounted on a frame using four shock-absorbing pads to ensure stability. The fuel tank, medicine container, and handle are all securely fastened above the frame. The machine operates on a pneumatic infusion system: the engine's power output shaft drives the fan impeller, creating high-speed airflow. Part of this air is used to cool the engine, while another portion is directed through a pipe into the liquid tank to increase pressure. Most of the airflow then passes through the nozzle, causing the rotating cage to spin rapidly. As the liquid enters the cage, centrifugal force throws it outward, where it is then carried by the high-speed air stream and sprayed onto the target area.
Before using the sprayer, it’s important to conduct a thorough inspection. Ensure all parts are properly installed, connections are secure, and the rotating cage moves freely. If the engine uses a gasoline-oil mixture, fill the tank with fresh water first and test the spray. Check for proper fluid flow through the pipes and confirm that the mist produced by the nozzle is consistent. Always consult with a professional to determine the correct type and dosage of pesticide for your specific needs. Adjust the throttle valve to control the spray volume effectively.
During operation, the operator should walk steadily and open the infusion switch at the same time, maintaining a constant speed. When stopping, always close the infusion switch before turning off the machine. Pay attention to wind direction—always start from the downwind side and spray in the same direction as the wind. Avoid spraying against the wind to prevent drift. In fields, use side-spraying techniques, ensuring the nozzle is angled slightly away from the crops. The angle should be adjusted based on wind speed—larger angles for stronger winds, smaller angles for lighter winds. Avoid spraying during the hottest part of the day, and do not spray when wind speed exceeds 3 m/s. In enclosed spaces like greenhouses or warehouses, limit spray duration to avoid exposure risks. If liquid gets into the cage bearings, clean them with kerosene or gasoline, apply lubricant as instructed, and reassemble the cage. Never touch the rotating atomizer cage while spraying, and avoid overfilling the liquid tank to prevent spills. Clean up any overflow immediately after each use.
After completing the task, drain all remaining liquid from the tank and hose, and wipe down the machine thoroughly. Before storage, make sure to empty the fuel and liquid tanks. Perform a full cleaning, apply anti-rust oil to metal parts, and store the sprayer in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
In case of malfunctions, check the throttle valve position and adjust if necessary. If the infusion switch is clogged, clean it. For blocked orifice holes, clean the valve core. If the shaft head outlet is blocked, clear the infusion hole. If the tank isn’t pressurizing properly, reseal the connection and align it toward the fan. If the tank lid is loose, tighten it. If the fog particles are too thick or the cage isn’t spinning fast enough, check the engine speed and adjust or repair it. If the bearing lacks oil, clean and lubricate it. Worn-out bearings should be replaced. If the nylon net cover is clogged or damaged, clean or replace it. Proper maintenance ensures long-term performance and reliability of the equipment.
