Small four-wheel tractor in use should pay attention to what the problem?

(1) Inadequately equipped drive belts: Small four-wheel tractors typically come with three V-belts, but some models are only fitted with one or two at the top. During operation, as the load increases, these belts tend to slip significantly. This not only reduces transmission efficiency but also lowers the output power. Moreover, excessive slipping causes the belts to heat up, leading to delamination, deformation, and accelerated wear. Therefore, it's important to avoid overloading the tractor when using the drive belts to prevent premature failure. (2) Long-term neglect of the cooling system: The water tank on the tractor is usually open at the top, making it easy for dust and debris to enter during use and parking. Sometimes, it gets filled with dirty or hard water, and impurities settle over time. As more dirt accumulates, scale forms, blocking the water passages. This affects engine cooling, causing overheating, thinning of the oil, and reduced lubrication performance. It also accelerates wear on moving parts, expands components, and leads to a loss of technical performance, power reduction, and even serious issues like burnt bearings, seized shafts, or stuck cylinders. (3) Unauthorized modifications: Some drivers make random changes to the tractor’s components, which can damage the original mechanical properties. For instance, to increase speed, some may enlarge the pulley diameter. This can lead to several problems: First, changing the transmission ratio increases clutch speed and causes greater impact loads when the engine speed fluctuates, increasing torsional vibration and shortening the life of clutch parts. Second, the larger contact area between the belt and pulley increases the risk of belt breakage and faster wear. Third, higher speeds reduce traction force, creating risks during transport and hill climbing. Additionally, increased load raises temperatures, thins the oil, and makes it harder to form an oil film, accelerating wear on the crankshaft and other engine components. Lastly, this modification can damage the tractor's maneuverability and stability, leading to early wear in the braking system due to poor braking performance. (4) Severe overloading: Some operators frequently overload the tractor during transportation, which puts excessive strain on the engine, transmission, and running parts. This results in higher temperatures and thinner oil, reducing lubrication effectiveness. In emergency situations, the tractor may not stop in time, increasing braking distance and the risk of accidents. Overloading also raises fuel consumption, causes black smoke from the exhaust, and promotes carbon buildup in the combustion chamber, which accelerates piston and cylinder wear. (5) Improper traction and starting methods: Some tractors are started by pulling them, which increases resistance due to thick oil in the transmission and oil pan. When the clutch is engaged quickly, it causes heavy gear impact, and repeated use of this method can lead to gear fatigue and eventual fracture. This practice is especially dangerous in cold weather and should be strictly avoided.
