Enjoying the Christmas-y Things
This week has been a whirlwind of celebrations—kind of like our anniversary last year when Chris and I decided to celebrate our vows by throwing a whole week-long party instead of exchanging gifts. And now, with a big get-together looming in just half an hour, we're deep-cleaning like crazy, but it feels more like a fiesta than work.
The house has been buzzing with activity: gift-wrapping, Christmas card writing, and packages arriving daily. It's a real celebration, and I might have been spotted dancing on the counters more than once.

**The Unusual Christmas:**
We made use of a special Florida resident discount at a nearby resort and spent two amazing days and a magical night at the beach. It was pure bliss. Watching the sunsets reminded me of those glowing moments in Twilight—it was that kind of beauty.
**Outdoor Fun:**
While painting crafts outside, our littlest found a nearby tree perfect for climbing. She was all smiles as she swung from its branches, making the most of the holiday spirit.
**New Adventures:**
Daddy took her ice skating twice already, and guess who joined them? Me! We glided across the rink to "Baby It's Cold Outside," and though I wasn't as graceful as the other skaters, my daughter loved every second of it. Her joy is infectious!
**Quiet Moments:**
There’s something magical about seeing my son explore his world. Boxes arrive almost daily from loved ones, and each one opens up a new adventure for him.
**A New Tradition:**
For the first time ever, we attended a Christmas parade. In Michigan, we'd be freezing in the snow, but here in Florida, it was warm and wonderful. Seeing Santa himself was the highlight for everyone.
**Old Customs, New Faces:**
Though I missed my sister-in-law Crystal this year, we kept our Christmas card tradition alive by inviting friends over for cozy drinks, crafts, and a good movie. It felt just as special.
