Multi-chamber infusion soft bags are currently categorized into two main types in the large-scale infusion industry: liquid-liquid multi-chamber bags and powder-liquid multi-chamber bags. These products are designed to contain different infusion drugs within a single package, with each chamber separated by virtual welding. This design ensures that the components remain isolated during production, storage, and transportation. In clinical practice, the virtual weld is opened using external force, and after mixing, the contents are used immediately, as these multi-chamber soft bags are not suitable for long-term storage. Therefore, they are typically prepared on-site just before use.

The strength of the virtual weld is essential for ensuring both the safety of the product during storage and transportation and the ease of use in clinical settings. The weld must be strong enough to prevent accidental opening but not so strong that it becomes difficult to open. The heat sealing strength is determined by three key parameters: temperature, time, and pressure.
