Medium-term management methods and techniques for throwing rice

The first objective is to develop strong and vigorous stems from the seedling stage through spikelet differentiation, which helps increase the heading rate and enhance the number of effective panicles. This is crucial for ensuring a healthy and productive crop. The second key step involves the proper application of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers after the spike differentiation stage. This promotes better spikelet formation and increases the total grain number, leading to higher yields. In terms of fertility management, if the seedlings are not growing well—showing weak growth, poor leaf color, or insufficient development—it’s important to apply additional nitrogen. In such cases, about 1.75 kg of nitrogen should be used, with a nitrogen-to-potassium ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. This ensures the plants get the necessary nutrients to recover and grow properly. If the seedlings are growing reasonably well but the soil is low in fertility or early fertilization was inadequate, there may be early signs of redness in the leaves. In this situation, it's recommended to apply approximately 1.25 kg of pure nitrogen, combined with potassium at a ratio of 1:3, using potassium chloride as the source. When the seedlings are healthy, with green leaves and no visible signs of deficiency, it's best not to apply nitrogen. Instead, focus on phosphorus and potash. A small amount of superphosphate can be mixed with 7.5 kg of potassium chloride and applied to support the plant's overall health and grain development without overloading it with nitrogen. Proper nutrient management at each growth stage is essential for maximizing yield potential and maintaining plant health throughout the season. Adjustments should be made based on the actual condition of the crop and soil fertility levels.
