Clutch slippery prevention

Clutch slippery prevention

In a 654 tractor, the diesel tank sediment cup was leaking, allowing diesel oil to flow from the clutch housing inspection plate onto the clutch friction plate. As a result, the clutch began to slip during load operations. If we had chosen to open up and clean it properly, it would have taken two or three days. However, during the busy spring plowing season, we needed a quick solution. Instead of waiting for a full cleaning, we opted for a temporary fix and managed to resolve the issue in just 20 minutes. The method used was both effective and practical. First, we removed the clutch free play by adjusting the pedal. Then, we pressed the clutch pedal all the way down to ensure the master and slave cylinders were fully separated. After that, we slowly rotated the clutch while using a gasoline torch to spray a small amount of gasoline directly onto the clutch disc. We did this for a few rotations to help dissolve and evaporate the diesel residue. Finally, we readjusted the clutch clearance to restore normal operation. This quick repair allowed the tractor to continue working without major downtime, proving that sometimes a smart and timely approach can save time and effort, especially when time is critical.
