Anthocyanidins is a kind of water-soluble natural pigments widely existing in plants in nature. They are colored aglycone obtained from the hydrolysis of anthocyanins. Most of the main colorants in fruits, vegetables and flowers are related to them. Under the condition of different PH value of plant cell vacuoles, anthocyanidins make the petals colorful. The main functions about anthocyanidins are antioxidant and free radical scavenging function, nutritional fortifier in food and Natural Pigment.

Experts advise: Apple should delay trimming to protect the tree>
This year, the overall status of China's apple production remains relatively stable, with the Bohai Bay region—comprising Shandong, Liaoning, Hebei, and Beijing—experiencing a normal season. The cooling snowfall this year is comparable to previous years, with no significant disasters reported so far. However, the Loess Plateau apple-producing areas are still facing some challenges due to weather fluctuations.
Professor Han Mingyu, a leading expert in the modern apple industry technology system, has provided several recommendations for farmers to protect their orchards and ensure better yields:
First, it's crucial to clear snow from between branches and around tree trunks promptly. This helps prevent sudden temperature changes and ice buildup, which can damage tree trunks and worsen rot disease. After pruning during cold periods, minimize wounds and apply cut-off oil to protect them. If rot disease occurs, especially in spring and fall, it's important to use effective treatments such as 3% thiophanate-methyl, ganconazole, gulex, rot rick, or schnail. Also, after bud emergence, check for any frozen or dead shoots, as they can lead to outbreaks of rot disease.
Farmers should closely monitor temperature changes. If temperatures drop below -20°C, trees may suffer freezing damage. To protect young trees, wrap trunks and main branches with materials like waste cotton, cloth, straw, or grass, and secure them tightly with old agricultural film or woven bags. In areas where possible, applying plant transpiration inhibitors can help reduce winter stress on young apple trees.
For apple trees with damaged flower buds due to frost, spraying Tianda 2116 or Brassinostat 481 foliar fertilizers before and after flowering can improve fruit set and yield. Additionally, using bee pollination or artificial pollination methods can increase fruiting rates.
The government in fruit-growing regions is advised to quickly clear roads to facilitate the transportation of fresh apples. Farmers are also encouraged not to hold back sales or artificially inflate prices during the Spring Festival. Moreover, those who haven't sold their fruit should regularly inspect their stock. Any fruits affected by cold injury must be handled immediately to avoid further losses. Taking these steps will help maintain quality and ensure a more profitable harvest.
