1. The incubation loop (barrel) nursery is a specialized water system designed to mimic natural ecological conditions, keeping the eggs in constant motion. Using loops directly for raising fish fry provides an ideal living environment for salmon fry. More importantly, when the fry hatch and begin feeding, they are given live bait fish—smaller fry that have been stripped of their membranes. This ensures a nutritious diet that supports their growth while maintaining clean freshwater conditions. During the early stages of carp fry cultivation, it's important to address the limitations of the loop system, such as difficulty in draining and the risk of silt and organic matter accumulation. After 5-7 days, choose a sunny day and rotate the loop around 10 o'clock in the morning. Eel fry tend to eat greedily, so it's best to stop feeding the bait fish 12 hours before rotation to allow the fry to fast, which helps reduce mortality.

2. Net cage nurseries are considered an optimal environment for raising fry. They ensure a continuous supply of fresh water and abundant, easily accessible bait. However, there are some challenges: newly stripped bait fish cannot be fed immediately, and the cages require frequent cleaning and regular replacement. Managing fry in these cages can be complex and labor-intensive. Typically, a three-stage system is used: Class I cages are made from 40 to 28 mesh polyethylene netting, sewn into boxes measuring 4–6 meters long, 1 meter wide, and 1 meter deep. Class II cages are slotted boxes made from 0.3 cm wide warp-knitted polyethylene mesh, with dimensions of 2 meters by 1 meter by 1 meter. Class III cages are similar but use 0.5 cm mesh. The ratio of these cages is usually 1:10:20, ensuring efficient space utilization and proper fry development.

3. Cement pools are commonly used for fry rearing and typically measure 4 meters by 6 meters with a depth of 0.8 meters, though sizes may vary slightly. The bottom must have a slight slope to facilitate drainage, and a seedling pool should be located at the drainage area. A drainage system consisting of a rubber tube, filter mesh, and supporting iron frame is essential. The rubber tube is fixed at the center of the frame and positioned so that it doesn't let water escape, maintaining a consistent water level. The flow rate is controlled by adjusting the number of drain pipes and the height of the outlet, allowing for precise water management.

4. When small carp fry grow to about 3.0 centimeters, they can be transferred to a small earthen pond for further cultivation. The stocking density is typically around 150,000 per hectare. Before introducing the carp, bait fish must be pre-cultured in the pond. Bait fry are usually introduced 10–15 days prior to releasing the carp, with a recommended amount of 15 to 22.5 million fry per hectare. Fresh water should be added regularly throughout the day to maintain good water quality and prevent deterioration.
