Summer fish, shrimp, crab feeding and management

In order to effectively manage aquaculture during the hot summer months, it's essential to take proactive measures to prevent flooding and ensure proper water management. First, the embankments of fish, shrimp, and crab ponds should be reinforced and elevated to avoid overflow during heavy rains. At the same time, drainage and irrigation channels must remain clear and functional to prevent waterlogging and desertification during storms. When the pond water temperature rises above 33°C, one of the most effective strategies is to deepen the water level, allowing aquatic species to seek cooler depths and reduce heat stress. Second, during the peak demand period for freshwater fish in June to August, feeding should be continuous throughout the day and night. However, during early September, when the "White Dew" season begins, fish diseases tend to increase. To mitigate this, feeding should be carefully controlled—stopping in the afternoon and reducing feed amounts to avoid overfeeding. During this time, it’s important to adjust feeding schedules based on the health of the fish. In June through August, when shrimp are in their growth and fattening phase, they require a nutrient-rich diet. Similarly, crabs have increased food intake during the summer, so in addition to aquatic plants and plant-based feeds, introducing more animal-based foods significantly enhances their market value. Third, feeding practices should follow the "four principles": timing, location, quality, and quantity. Feeding should also be consistent, fresh, and evenly distributed to ensure all animals receive adequate nutrition without waste. Fourth, maintaining sufficient dissolved oxygen levels in the pond is crucial for the health of aquatic life. One way to do this is by regularly replacing water. Fish ponds or adult breeding ponds should be refilled with fresh water 2-3 times a month, adding about 10 cm each time. For crab breeding ponds, water changes are typically done every 3-4 days, while in the hottest periods, it may be necessary to change the water every 1-2 days. When changing water, only 1/4 to 1/3 of the total volume should be replaced at once to avoid shocking the aquatic organisms. Shrimp ponds should be refilled every 10-15 days, adding 15-20 cm of fresh water each time, and keeping the water transparency around 40 cm. Additionally, aerators should be used regularly to supplement oxygen levels and maintain a healthy environment for the aquatic life.

Test Kits

Diagnostic reagents can be divided into two categories: in vivo diagnostic reagents and in vitro diagnostic reagents. It is mostly a reagent for detection by the reaction between antigen and antibody.
A: Classification of in vitro diagnostic reagents:
1. In vitro biodiagnostic reagents managed as drugs include:
1. Blood type and tissue type reagents;
2. Microbial antigen, antibody and nucleic acid detection reagents;
3. Tumor marker reagents;
4. Immunohistochemistry and human tissue cell reagents;
5. Human genetic testing reagents;
6. Biochips;
7. Allergy diagnostic reagents.

2. In vitro reagents managed as medical devices include:
1. Clinical basic test reagents;
2. Clinical chemistry reagents;
3. Blood gas and electrolyte determination reagents;
4. Vitamin determination reagents;
5. Cell histochemical stains;
6. Autoimmune diagnostic reagents;
7. Microbiological test reagents.
B: According to medical test items, clinical diagnostic reagents can be roughly divided into clinical chemical test reagents, immunology and
Serological testing reagents, hematological and cytogenetic testing reagents, microbiological testing reagents, body fluid excretion
Detection reagents, genetic diagnosis reagents, etc. Among them, the market share of clinical chemistry
The largest, close to 34%; followed by the immunology market, accounting for about 29%. Novel immunodiagnostic reagents and genetic diagnostic tests
The reagent was developed in the late 1980s, and it is the most common diagnostic reagent for all current diagnostic reagents, regardless of technology or market.
