**I. Management of Growth Stages**
1. **Seedling and Early Growth Stage**: During the seedling phase in the Netherlands, it's important to control water levels to prevent excessive growth. Watering should begin from the bud stage until flowering. At this time, soil cultivation should be carried out, and a 0.01% solution of Tianfengsu should be sprayed. Mix 3.5–7 ml of Tianfengsu with 15 kg of water and spray evenly on the leaves to promote root development, enhance photosynthesis, and speed up plant growth. This treatment also helps improve resistance against diseases like powdery mildew and brown spot.
2. **Flowering and Pod Development Stage**: Once the pods reach 2–3 cm in length after flowering, it's time to top the plants and apply fertilizer. 3. **Timely Support Structures**: As the vines start to appear, insert bamboo stakes in a single row and guide the vines onto the supports or tie them manually to ensure proper vertical growth.
**II. Timely Harvesting**
Harvest the pods when they are fully developed, but avoid waiting until they are overripe. It’s best to pick them early in the morning to prevent the pods from splitting open due to heat stress.
**III. Pest and Disease Control**
- **Powdery Mildew**: Use 50% Mancozeb at 600 times dilution, 70% Chlorothalonil at 800 times, or 50% Triadimefon at 500 times.
- **Rust**: Apply 50% Mancozeb at 600 times or 50% Triadimefon at 500 times.
- **Brown Spot**: Spray with 50% Mancozeb at 600 times or 70% Chlorothalonil at 800 times.
- **Locusts**: Use 1000-fold diluted 2.5% Emamectin Benzoate or 3% Acephate.
- **Bean Meal (Soybean Aphid)**: Mix 4.5% Lufenuron at 1000 times with 30% Acephate at 600 times, or use 2.5% Lufenuron at 1000 times.
- **Leaf Miner Flies**: Apply 2.5% Chlorfenapyr at 1000 times or 30% Dimethoate at 1000 times.
It is crucial to stop all pesticide applications 10 days before harvest to ensure safe and high-quality produce. Proper management throughout the growing cycle will lead to better yields and superior quality beans.
