Ethephon is an efficient plant growth regulator that has the effect of increasing female flowers and has become a relatively mature technology for increasing production. However, due to the fact that some vegetable growers cannot accurately determine the application concentration, the growth of seedlings often stagnates due to the high concentration, and flowering or the formation of stiff seedlings occurs. The remedies for cucumber after suffering from ethylene toxicity are:

1. Supplement water. After the occurrence of injury, according to the degree of injury, timely increase of available nitrogen fertilizer, while increasing the number of irrigation, to ensure adequate water and fertilizer supply.

2. Increase the temperature of the greenhouse. Under normal conditions, the suitable temperature during the seedling stage of cucumber is 25°C～28°C and 13°C～15°C at night; after the occurrence of damage, the temperature of the greenhouse should be raised to 30°C during the daytime, and the original low temperature should be maintained at night to promote seedling growth. And female flowers continue to differentiate.

3. Hormone regulation. In the four-leaf and one-hearted period of cucumber, if the concentration of ethephon is greater than 200ppm, a phytotoxicity occurs. Spraying 20-50ppm of gibberellin solution can be used to reversely regulate it. Spray it once every 7 days, usually about 15 days. Back to normal.
