Rieger Pest Control

Pests

The main pests of Rieger Begonia include roundworms, worms, fungal mosquitoes, cotton aphids, cockroaches, snails, cockroaches, thrips, and whiteflies. Aphid and tick infections are typically the result of taking infected plant material into the greenhouse. Aphids, worms, fungal mosquitoes, thrips, and whiteflies are all flying insects and can invade greenhouses from weeds and other infected plants outside.

Aphids: Aphids are pear-shaped molluscs that change in color from light green to dark brown and are not easily detected. Aphids can distort and deform new leaves. In extreme cases, the entire plant growth of the affected plant was blocked. It is relatively easy to control and many insecticides are effective. Root aphids can be controlled by irrigation.

Worms: Worm excretions and their wormholes are often easily observed, so worm infections are easily identified. The wormhole is usually in the middle or at the edge of the leaf. Worm pests are often confused with snails and mites. Many insecticides are effective against worms.

Fungal Mosquitoes: Fungal Mosquitoes are small black mosquitoes (about 30 mm long) that often fly over the surface of media or leaves. Adults have long rosary-shaped tentacles. Larvae are small, legless worms with black heads and transparent bodies that live in culture media and often have a web like a spider's web on the surface of the media. The larvae eat roots, root hairs, leaves attached to the surface of the medium, and stems in the lower parts of the plants, causing damage to the plants. This damage makes the plants susceptible to disease and they are often associated with diseased plants or cuttings. Adults do not cause any direct damage to the plants.

Prevention and control to reduce the amount of water to prevent the growth of algae; soil irrigation or soil surface spraying is an effective method to control larvae. Adults are very sensitive to most fungicides.

Cotton pupa: Cotton pupa forms a mass of white cotton-like material on the leaves, leaves, and roots of Rieger Begonia. Plants infected with cotton aphid are hindered from growing. In severe cases, infected parts of the plant will die. Root aphids can be controlled by pesticide soil infusion. When injecting insecticides, care must be taken to ensure that the pots and soils are well drained, and that no trays can be placed below, which can easily lead to poisoning.
