In order to improve soil properties and improve fertility, we have started to implement the ecological model of chicken-rearing in apple orchards on the basis of the “Five Matching Ecological Models” for fruit, livestock, marshes, grass and water in apple orchards. Summarized as follows:

1 Basic situation

1.1 Location of Investigation Wangjiacun, Jiuxian County, Luochuan County, National Apple Standardization Production Demonstration Park, Luochuan, Shaanxi.

1.2 Basic conditions of the orchard The park was built in 2003 and covers an area of ​​1 000 mu. It is a combination of scientific research, experimentation, demonstration and promotion. It is divided into five areas: 450 mu of production demonstration area, 100 mu of research and experimental area, and seedlings. 100 mu of breeding area, 50 mu of facilities supporting area, 300 mu of radiation promotion area, and 1 pig breeding area of ​​1000 pigs. In the spring of 2005, a one-time high-standard garden was built for 650 mu. In 2010, the ecological model of raising chicken was established in the scientific demonstration area. .

1.3 The survey focused on the occurrence of insect pests in orchards and non-stocked orchards (controls), the fresh weight of louvers, the thickness of louvers, the quality of apples inside and outside, and the use of pesticides in orchards.

1) Investigation of pest occurrences. The main investigations were conducted on the occurrence of spiraea and gold thread moths in orchards. Ten leaves and two shoots were taken from four directions in the southeast and northwest respectively, and the number of moths and the number of wingless dragonflies were counted.

From Table 2, it can be seen that the fresh weight of apple tree louvers in the chicken-raising area is 2.7% higher than the control, the thickness of the louver is increased by 2.3%, the fruit hardness is increased by 2.6%, and the soluble solid content is increased by 9.6%. According to the investigation of the degree of harm caused by similar pests and weeds and control areas, the area of ​​chickens was reduced by an average of 3.5 times per year. The cost of prevention and control was calculated at 30 yuan per mu and the cost of pesticides was saved at 105 yuan per mu per year.

3 Summary and discussion

1) Orchard chicken reduces pesticide investment. Orchard chickens effectively reduce the occurrence of diseases and weeds, reduce the number of pesticides, and save 105 yuan per acre per year. According to available data and field surveys, 2 batches of chickens can be stocked each year in the orchard. The calculation is based on 80 batches of commercial chickens and 6.5 kg of chickens per batch of orchards per acre. This is equivalent to an annual per-mu orchard application. Pure nitrogen (N) 10.73 kg, pure phosphorus (P2O5) 19.68 kg, pure potassium (K2O) 17.97 kg. With 2010 market retail prices of urea at 91 yuan/bag, superphosphate at 26 yuan/bag, and potassium chloride at 175 yuan/bag, even if the cost of fertilization is not taken into account, only fertilizer will save 116.28 yuan per mu of orchard. 2) Orchard chickens save chicken costs. Wild stocking of chickens is implemented. Due to the addition of wild natural foods, it can save about 25% of feed compared to indoor centralized care, with an average of 3.25 kg per chicken and a retail price of 2.41 yuan/kg in the chicken feed market in 2010. , It can save feed input 4.89 yuan/set, and only 160 chickens can be produced per acre orchard for 1 year, which can save 782.4 yuan in feed cost compared with the same number of chickens.

3) Orchard chickens increase economic efficiency. Chickens are cultivated in orchards, and because chickens are more flavorful, the products have become popular in the market. The number of commercial chickens per year in orchards per acre is 160, and the average weight of each chicken is 3.25 kg. The chickens in the local market are housed at 20 yuan/kg, and the orchard is released at 40 yuan/kg. In comparison, an economic profit of 10,400 yuan per mu can be generated.

4) Orchard chicken improves fruit quality. The average fruit firmness of the chicken orchard reached 8.6 kg/cm2, 2.6% higher than the control, and the soluble solids content was 12.34%, which was 9.6% higher than the control.

5) The ecological benefits of raising chickens in orchards are significant. Implementing the orchard chicken-growing ecological model, improved the use of agricultural ecological resources, reduced the input of agricultural production data, increased the income of the production process, can effectively alleviate the contradiction between production development and resource endowments, and greatly reduced the fertilizer The input and use of chemical industrial products such as agricultural and animal medicines have effectively reduced the agricultural non-point source pollution load and have obvious ecological benefits.
