Frequent problems and solutions of vegetable nursery

In the process of vegetable seedling raising, due to improper environmental conditions and management, the seedlings often exhibit various abnormal growth phenomena, which can be summarized as follows: The five types of problems and their causes are summarized below:

1, rotten species or emerging. On the one hand, the bad seeds are related to the quality of seeds, immature seeds, mildew during storage, and burns caused by scalding during soaking; on the other hand, low temperature and high humidity after sowing, application of unripe organic fertilizer, and long time of seed unearthing. Long-term exposure to hypoxic conditions is also prone to rotten species. Seedling emergence is also due to poor seed quality, uneven bottom water, uneven thickness of the cover soil, uneven bed temperature, organic fertilizer is not decomposed, excessive application of fertilizers and other reasons.

2, "wearing a hat" unearthed. The soil temperature is too low and the cover soil is too thin or too dry, so that the seed coat is not pressed enough or the seed coat is dry and hard to fall off. In addition, seeds of melon seeds are sown directly and are easily excavated. In order to prevent "hats" from being unearthed, uniform soiling should be applied during sowing to ensure proper soil temperature after sowing. When the seedlings were first unearthed, such as the bed soil was too dry, a small amount of water could be sprayed to keep the bed soil moist, and it was found that there was a thin layer of soil covering the ground and a layer of moist fine soil was added. Found that "hat" unearthed, you can first spray water to make the seed coat become soft, and then manually remove the seed coat.

3, roots. Seedlings do not produce new roots, the roots are rust-colored, and diseased seedlings are easily removed from the soil. The root cause is mainly due to the soil temperature of the seedbed being below 12 degrees for a long period of time, combined with excessive watering or cloudy days, and lack of light, which results in the seedling roots being under low temperature, over-humidity, and hypoxia. The soil temperature should be increased (the soil temperature should be maintained at 16 degrees or more), and the bottom water should be sprayed once during sowing, and water should be properly controlled during the seedling process to prevent the bed surface from getting too wet.

4, long seedlings. The elongated shoots of the leggy seedlings are thin and light in color. The fibrous roots are small and weak, and the resistance is poor. After the planting, the slow seedlings are slow and it is difficult to obtain early maturing and high yield. Seedlings are long-term due to lack of light, high night temperature, excessive water and nitrogen fertilizers, etc. They can be prevented by increasing lighting, maintaining proper temperature difference between day and night, appropriate water supply, proper seeding, and timely seedlings.

5, aging seedlings. Also known as "Fuzzy" and "Little Old Miao." Aging seedlings are thin and hard, with small black leaves and dark roots. After the aging seedlings were planted, the growth was slow, the flowering results were late, the result was short, and it was prone to premature aging. Aging seedlings are caused by long-term lack of water in the seedbed or low temperature or inappropriate hormone treatment. Care should be taken to prevent long-term low temperatures, excessive water shortages, and failure to use hormones when growing seedlings.
