The TRS-II digital soil water temperature measuring instrument can detect and observe the soil water potential in the field, so that the soil water and water conductivity parameters such as soil moisture and water conductivity can be further obtained. The instrument uses a tensiometer principle combined with one or more probes to improve the traditional technology. It is also possible to purchase only one set of instruments and multiple probes. The probe can be buried in different depths and different measured plots for a long time, so if you want to know the water potential of a certain point, you can connect the instrument to the probe to read the value.

4, save button
a. Press this button in the measurement state to save the current measured temperature, water potential, time, and storage serial number.
b. Press this button while viewing to view the next record.
c. Press this button in the time adjustment state to save the current set time.
d. Press this button in the auto save setting state to save the current set auto save time.
5, clear the key
a. Press this button in the measurement state to clear the current measured force value (including: water potential peak force value, water power force value, temperature force value).
b. Press this button in the viewing state to delete the current storage record.
c. Press this button in the system menu state to cycle through the menus (including: time setting, auto save setting).
d. Press this button in the auto save setting state to set the auto save time (00~60 minutes). When set to 00, it means to turn off the auto save function.
e. Press this button in the time setting state to adjust the current time values.

Eight, test operation steps
1. Instructions for using the soil water temperature measuring instrument:
a, the measured force value is in the range of 0 ~ 10Kpa: it means wet, too high humidity for most crops.
b. The measured force value is in the range of 10 to 30 Kpa: it means wet, suitable for most crops to grow.
c. The measured force value is in the range of 30 to 50 Kpa: it means dry, and the wet crop has to be filled with water.
d. The measured force value is in the range of >50Kpa: it means dryness, and most crops need to be filled with water.
2. Soil water potential test method
a. Soak the water potential probe (ceramic head) in water for more than 3 hours before use.
b. Fill the plastic tube of the water potential probe with cold water and plug the rubber stopper. Drill holes with a soil drill to a predetermined depth at the selected embedding point. Pour about 5 mL of mud into the bottom of the hole and insert the water potential probe into the hole. The soil around the plastic rod is compacted. The depth of the water potential probe is calculated from the distance from the middle of the ceramic tube to the soil surface.
c. The water potential probe is buried in the moist soil for 1 hour, and after drying the soil for several hours, the soil water potential can be measured. When measuring, insert the air inlet of the water potential sensor into the socket on the upper left of the display, then turn on the power switch, press the “water potential” button, then the display will show “0”. If it is not “0”, press “clear” to the current The pressure value is set to zero reference point. The needles on the measuring cylinder are pierced into the rubber plugs of the water potential probes one by one, and the water potential data of each measuring point can be read from the display screen. The reading should be taken in the morning when the temperature changes little.
d. Turn off the power after the test is completed.
c, calculation:
Soil water potential (KPa) = water potential reading - probe water column height (cm) / 10.2
In the formula: 10.2: refers to the conversion factor of the water column height converted to kilopascals (KPa).
Probe water column height: refers to the height from the lower edge of the rubber stopper to the center of the ceramic head.
3, temperature measurement
During the measurement, insert the air inlet of the temperature sensing probe into the socket on the upper right of the display, then turn on the power switch of the display and press the “Temperature” button to insert the top of the temperature sensor into the position where the water needs to be measured. After 2 minutes, the reading can be made. If the soil is hard, use an iron rod to help punch the hole to the position you need to measure. Push the thank you button.
Nine, replace the battery operation steps
After using for a period of time, if the backlight function cannot be realized when the button is turned on after the power is turned on, and the function button cannot be operated normally, it means that the battery has been used up, and the new battery needs to be replaced.
1. Use a screwdriver to remove the 4 screws on the back of the rear cover of the monitor (as shown below) and remove the rear cover of the monitor.

2. After removing the back cover of the monitor, you will find that the battery inside the rear case of the monitor is installed, and the used battery is removed and replaced with a new battery.
3. Close the rear case of the display and the front case, and screw the four screws that were originally removed to complete the battery replacement.
Ten, matters needing attention, maintenance and repair
1. Water frequency of water potential probe
The water potential probe buried in the field will gradually increase the bubbles in the instrument. The rate of increase is related to soil dryness. To maintain the sensitivity of the instrument, periodically open the rubber stopper to fill the tube with water. The time interval between the first addition of water can be judged based on the measured soil water potential value:
When the measured soil water potential is in the range of 0 to 20 KPa, water is added once every 12 days.
When the measured soil water potential is in the range of 20 to 50 KPa, water is added once every 7 days.
When the measured soil water potential is in the range of >50 KPa, water is added for about 5 days.
Each time water is added, the reading is taken on the same day.
2, rubber plug replacement
The rubber plug of the water potential probe should be tight. The Piset is made of neoprene, which is not easy to age and has good elasticity. The cork after acupuncture will not leak. If the air leak occurs during long-term use, the rubber plug can be replaced. Each water potential probe is equipped with 3 pissors.
3, the replacement of the injection needle
If the needle breaks, replace it with a new one.
4. Do not tap the LCD screen to place the object on the LCD screen.
5. Do not press the function keys with nails, sharp objects or pointed objects.
6. Take it lightly during use and handling.
7. Do not disassemble, repair or modify the unit yourself. These behaviors can cause permanent malfunction of the instrument.
8. If the fault occurs, please contact the original purchase office or the company.
9. This product has a product quality problem within one month from the date of sale, in the normal use and appearance without damage, the customer with the original sales invoice, valid warranty card and complete packaging to the original purchase or the company to replace the same specifications For the model, the replacement product will continue the warranty period and terms of the original product.
10. This product is within one year from the date of sale.
