Adding sand to compound feed can make broilers gain weight. The reason is that feeding chickens with such feeds can increase the amount of sand in the stomach of the chicken and increase feed utilization. According to experiments, adding 8% of sand to the broiler compound feed can increase the weight of each chicken by 325 grams. The trial also showed that when 7% of the sand was added to the broiler compound feed, the weight gain of the broilers was significant; if 9% of the sand was added, the chickens not only did not gain weight, but also caused the weight to fall. Therefore, adding 8% of sand to the broiler compound feed is the best ratio for broiler weight gain.
