Piglets wean well to "three points"

Piglets wean well to "three points"

To master the lactation period of weaned piglets, it is generally 28 days to 60 days in our country. Large-scale farms generally take 35 days of weaning. Some were weaned at 28 days, 42 days, or 60 days of age. The best feeding conditions are 40-day-50-day-old weaning.

Suitable weaning methods Weaning methods There are three types of weaning methods, namely the one-time weaning method, the batch weaning method, and the gradual weaning method. The most commonly used method in production is to move the mother without weaning.

The mother-to-child weaning method is to reach the weaning age, the sow is removed, the piglet is kept in the original circle, and the mother is separated once. This method is simple, so that the occurrence of environmental stress in piglets can be avoided and the sow can be quickly estrus after weaning. The disadvantage is that sows are prone to mastitis due to the sudden weaning of piglets; piglets are susceptible to falling out due to sudden weaning. In order to prevent mastitis, the sows should be reduced or stopped eating before or 3 days before weaning.

Batch weaning method The soon-to-be-heavy and well-developed piglets are weaned first, allowing the young piglets to continue feeding and then weaning at a certain time. This method is conducive to the survival and growth of the weak piglets; the disadvantage is that the weaning period is long and the piglets are weaned first. The empty nipples left are susceptible to mastitis.

The gradual weaning method gradually reduces the number of feedings of the piglets daily until 4 days after weaning until the complete weaning. This method is beneficial to mothers, but it is more troublesome.

Scientific feeding management

The piglets that have just finished the weaning of the good feed are often subject to sudden changes in living conditions, the environment, and weaning stimulants. The digestive function, disease resistance, and adaptability are temporarily reduced. If the feed suddenly changes, it will cause the piglets to lose their appetite, gain weight slowly and even lose weight, lose their weight, and produce stress symptoms after weaning. Therefore, after weaning, piglets not only require rich nutrition, good palatability, small size and easy to digest, but also maintain the feed before weaning within half a month after weaning, and gradually transition to feed for weaned piglets after half a month. There is a process of adaptation on the feed.

To shut down the environment, the piglet must not only have sufficient sunlight, suitable temperature (around 22°C), and be clean and dry, but also be fully disinfected with highly effective composite phenolic disinfectants before weaning. In addition, weaning pigs are best used when the weaning method, that is, weaning sows will be driven away, and the piglets were kept in the original circle. In this way, the piglet is familiar with the environment of the original pig house and has no sense of adaptability. The piglet basically eats and eats normally, which is conducive to the piglet successfully passing the weaning pass.

Feeding the piglet off the piglet should be less frequently fed during the second half of the day after weaning. Limited feeding, generally feeding 4 to 5 times a day, each feeding should be sufficient to maintain a strong appetite. It is best to feed it once again between 9 and 10 at night. Daily supply of adequate clean drinking water, gradually reducing the number of feedings after half a month, reaching the normal number of feedings at the age of 3 months.

If the piglet weaning can do the above three points, it can not only reduce the stress disease after weaning, but also make the piglet not lose weight, not lose weight, normal growth and development.
