Cordyceps mining

Cordyceps mining

Cordyceps mining is a difficult and meticulous process. Although the entire harvest period may be as long as two months, the suitable harvest period for each Cordyceps is only a few days. If the excavation is carried out too early, the spores of Chinese caterpillar fungus are not yet mature and the active ingredient content will be very low, so the medicinal value will be greatly reduced. If it is too late, the spores will fly and the seats will wither. It is also not suitable for medicinal purposes, and it is difficult to find when the snow melts. Therefore, in order to facilitate the search and ensure the quality, it is best to excavate when the snow has not yet melted, the most vigorous growth of the Cordyceps and the spores have not yet scattered. In snow fields above 4,000 meters above sea level, the density of Cordyceps is not high even in the most abundant areas. If you are lucky, you may find more than 20 roots in a square meter. And now it is more likely that no one has been found in the snowfields that have been searched for hundreds of kilometers. One kilogram of Cordyceps is about 2,500-3,600, which may be as long as one or two days for an experienced native with luck, but now it takes at least thirty to forty days.
